It is with the saddest regret that we announce the death of Mr. Shawnta Antonio Melvin, resident of Goldsboro, NC, January 21, 2022 at the age of 41.

Shawnta A. Melvin was born July 13, 1980 to Danny Lofton and Renita Melvin, both of Goldsboro. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Matthew Paul Melvin, Sr. and Victoria Water Melvin, paternal grandparents, John C. Lofton and Catherine Peeles Lofton.

He leaves behind to cherish his loving wife, Tausha Melvin of the home; six children, A’layjua Seaberry (Josh) of Atlanta, Georgia, O’Shaniya Melvin of Raleigh, NC, Na’Taujua Seaberry of the home, Sa’Mya Brown of LaGrange, NC, Cameren Jones of the home, Ty Shawn Melvin of Goldsboro, NC and one god-son, Cayden Braswell of Goldsboro, NC; one brother, Victor Jackson of Goldsboro, NC; one sister, Kimyotta (Morris) Williams of Goldsboro, NC, one brother-in-law, Terry Butler (Faith) of Goldsboro, NC and one sister-in-law, Jessica Mclamb of Fayetteville, NC, along with a host of other close relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 28th, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, located at 3888 US-70, Goldsboro, NC 27530, Telephone number: (919)739-0077.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 29th, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home (Chapel), located at 3888 US-70, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

Interment will immediately follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery.

Due to the spread of COVID-19, the family are requesting that everyone please wear a mask.
